The 2005 edition of the Ravello Festival, exhibits a rich array of events including: symphonic, and chamber music, opera, ballet, cinema, visual arts, and talks.

The Leitmotiv for the festival is “Contrast” and as they explain in the catalogue “…contrast which generates life and death, revealing itself in movement, confrontation, competition and adventure. The theme they continue is of extraordinary interest today when contrasts are highlighted via globalisation, their aim with the festival is to show an evolvement from blind antagonism to a harmonious coexistence of diversity.

It is a hard job to select the most important events of the Ravello Festival because of its length; there are more than 100 events and 700 artists from five continents.

Surely the selection included some live performances of an extraordinary quality, starting with the Orchestral Concerts section:

On15th of July the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra performed conducted by Krzysztof Penderecky. The orchestra celebrated the 60th anniversary of its foundation and their collaboration with numerous recording companies, preserving much of the repertoire for the future. 22nd of July the Orchestra and the Chorus of the Marinsky Theatre from St. Petersburg performed, it was founded in the 18th century, during the reign of Peter the Great, before the Revolution it was known as the Orchestra of the Russian Imperial Opera.

In the section Trends was the magnificent the world premiere of The fight between Tancredi and Clorinda, which is a part of the collection entitled “Madrigali Guerrieri et Amorosi” published in Venice in 1638, whose declared intent was to represent the opposing passions of the human nature.

A very particular performance was Music contrast: the electronic session for the Music Promenades’s section where three internationally renowned artist joined forces to combine the techniques of contemporary piano works, manipulation of electronic sounds and mixing in modern dance music.

In this section a distinction between what is essential and what is superfluous was given the 24th of August from Musica Nuda with an extraordinary duo who served the public with irony and self mockery, smile, sound effects and all the punk-rock ingredients.

Certainly to be present at these events can’t be compared to watching the video clips, however those who work in the world of communication are usually very short of time and could benefit from the advantage of using the service offered by MMPK.NET.

Not only videos but also text files and zipped photo files are available on the platform creating a complete multimedia product that is usable for every kind of media purpose.
