The summer theatrical release was not enough for this spectacular movie by talented director Christopher Nolan. Inception is now showing at the IMAX theater in London for an unforgettable dive into the complex and mind-blowing structure of this incredible film. Leonardo DiCaprio is Cobb, an expert in stealing memories from people’s mind, who is asked to put an idea into someone’s head instead of stealing it. This is called inception, and it will turn Cobb’s world upside down.
This is no brainless action, no popcorn entertainment, Inception is a thrill ride, an impressive masterpiece that requires a lot of attention and it’s not suitable for those who just want to sit there and let the movie pass them by. Chris Nolan is an excellent craftsman who created a multi-layered script, shot complicated scenes with an admirable cinematic knowledge – see the no-gravity action scene or the car chases – and realized a wonderful and breathtaking alternate-editing sequence towards the end of the movie with four story lines happening at the same time.
Is there something lacking? Unfortunately yes. Cobb is the only character we actually care about, whereas the others just happen to be there, individuals without background or explained lives who are merely part of an exceptional and impressive masterpiece.
There is a thin line between dreams and reality, are you ready to cross it?
