Tom Hanks, Colin Farrell, Emma Thompson at Saving Mr. Banks World Premiere closing Gala of the 57th BFI London Film Festival.
Drm.am hit the star studded cherry tree laned redcarpet Sunday night for Saving Mr. Banks world premiere.
The film has received good reviews but Hitfix’s Guy Lodge says it “Disneyfies a story of Disneyfication”. It tells the story of how Mary Poppins author PL Travers, played by Emma Thompson, and Walt Disney played by Tom Hanks, fought over how Mary Poppins was portrayed in the Disney adaptation of her book. Travers was later so unhappy with the result so she never let any other book be made into film. The film also stars Colin Farrell and Jason Schwartzman.
Gracing the redcarpet was also British singer Lily Allen.
The film festival came to an end yesterday. The prize for best film went to to Pawel Pawlikowski’s Ida, about German occupation of Poland and the Holocaust.
