Launch of Animated web series Streetcat Bob inspired by the amazing true life story of James Bowen.
‘Streetcat Bob’ has become an animated character aimed at preschool kids, Shooting Script Films and King Rollo films announced the release of the new animated web series on Tuesday 10th of April 2018. Streetcat Bob was written and created by Debbie Macdonald and Garry Jenkins. Debbie Macdonald is a writer, producer and actress. Known for Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom and Peppa Pig. Garry Jenkins is a writer and worked on the film ‘A Streetcat Named Bob’. In the series you’ll see the adventures of Bob and his furry friends. The series have been animated by the BAFTA winning King Rollo Films and produced by Adam Rolston and Luke Melia at Shooting Script Films.
The animated series is inspired by the true life story of James Bowen, that came to fame after his autobiographical books about how Bob saved him from a life on the streets of London has become a worldwide hit and consequently was turned into a film ‘A Streetcat Named Bob’. James Bowen rescueded Bob in 2007 when he found him injured, since then they have been inseparable. Bob still wearing his trademark scarf, the boisterous feline is now taking centre stage in an animated web series.
Streetcat Bob animated web series is using non-verbal communication and is aimed at a preschool audience. The stories are easy to follow and fun at the same time. The initial run of four 90 second webisodes are being launched weekly all on their Youtube channel: www.bit.ly/StreetCatBobWorld and on their website: www.Streetcatbob.world.
Watch the first episode HERE . It’s about a friend of Bob a fox called Charlett who’s very sad. Streetcat Bob wants to make Charlett happy again. He’s tries all sort of things, but without success…until Bob falls down from the seesaw. Charlett starts laughing and they both continue playing. Bob has a lot of friends, who will be seen in the following episodes.
It’s all brilliantly animated by King Rollo films in a sweet whimsical style, reminiscent of 1950’s book illustrations, with the city of London as an iconic backdrop. The characterization is excellent. There is plenty of fun also for the grown-ups. The episodes are short, perfect for small children with short attention spans.
