Edinburgh International Film Festival is back!! From today (20th of June) until Sunday 1st of July the festival shows a range of feature-length films and documentaries as well as short films, animations, and music videos. It is the world’s longest continually-running film festival.

‘Cold Water’ Tomorrow the first documentary called ‘Cold Water’ will be screened on venue Filmhouse Cinema 1. Director Pawel Pawlikowski, also known the Oscar-winning Ida, returns with the passionate love story of Wiktor and Zula, who meet in the ruins of post-war Poland. With different backgrounds and temperaments, they are fatally mismatched and yet fatefully condemned to each other. The documentary will be screened on 21st of June and 24th of June 2018 at 8.45pm. ‘Whitney’ Director Kevin Macdonald’s new documentary offers a rare, moving and insightful look into the life of one of the world’s greatest singers. Featuring unreleased recordings, never-seen-before home-movie footage, live performances and revealing interviews, the film celebrates Whitney’s talents, as well as detailing the sadder aspects of her personal life. The documentary can be seen on 22nd and 24th of June 2018 at 8.40pm in Filmhouse Cinema 1. Book your tickets now online!
‘In Person: Joe Dante’ On Saturday 23th of June ‘In Person: Joe Dante’ will be screened on venue Filmhouse Cinema 1 at 3.10pm. Director, producer, editor and self-proclaimed life-long movie fanatic, Joe Dante is the man behind a series of beloved and influential films, often defined by a knowing blend of fantasy and comedy. Besides films and screening, Edinburgh International Film Festival has a wealth of learning events for all age. For example, the youth stand The Young & the Wild, including film screenings, masterclasses and workshops. But also the Student Critics competition for budding film journalists and the free lecture series Reel Talks.
